Cookie Policy
(Last updated 06/25/2025)
This website (hereinafter, the “Site”) uses cookies. Below you can find more information about cookies, how they are used on the Site, and the control procedures we adopt with respect to them.
1. DATA CONTROLLER
EG SpA, with registered office in Milan, Via Pavia no. 6 – 20136, Tax Code and VAT no. 12432150154, is the Data Controller of the personal data collected through cookies on this Site. An updated list of data controllers and system administrators is kept at the Data Controller’s headquarters in Milan, Via Pavia no. 6 – 20136.
2. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND WHAT ARE THEY USED FOR?
Cookies are small text files that websites or social media platforms send to the browser of the device used by the user (such as a computer, smartphone, or tablet). These files store certain information, which is then transmitted back to the site’s server each time the user visits the site. Their retention period can vary from a few hours to several months, depending on their purpose.
Cookies allow the website to remember user preferences and actions, such as login information, language selection, text size, or other settings, to make navigation easier and more efficient. They are also used to manage authentication, monitor browsing sessions, save technical information, or collect data for statistical or advertising purposes, including through a unique identifier that tracks your visit to the website.
Some features of the site would not be technically possible without the use of cookies.
Types of cookies
Cookies are classified according to:
Duration:
Session cookies: temporary, they are deleted when the browser is closed.
Persistent cookies: These remain on your device for a set period of time, even after you close your browser.
Subject who installs them:
First-party cookies: installed directly by the visited site.
Third-party cookies: installed by external parties, including through components integrated into the site (e.g., social media, advertising, analytics).
Purpose:
Technical cookies: necessary for the operation of the site or to facilitate navigation. They include:
Browsing or session cookies: these ensure the basic functioning of the site (e.g., login, shopping cart, reserved areas).
Functional cookies: these remember preferences selected by the user (e.g., language, products viewed).
Non-technical cookies:
Profiling cookies: these create user profiles to send personalized advertising messages.
Analytics cookies: collect aggregate data for statistical analysis and to monitor site performance.”
3. CONSENT AND LEGAL BASIS
According to current legislation:
Technical cookies (and first-party or anonymous third-party analytics cookies) do not require user consent.
All other cookies (profiling, marketing, and non-anonymized third-party analytics) require prior consent, which must be expressed after clear information is provided and through simplified methods (e.g., banners).
The Italian Data Protection Authority considers analytics cookies to be technical cookies if:
In the case of third-party cookies, measures are adopted that prevent user identification (e.g., IP anonymization), and the third party contractually undertakes to use them only for aggregate statistics and not for other purposes;
in the case of first-party cookies, even without anonymization measures, provided that the owner carries out the statistical analyses directly.”
4. TYPES OF COOKIES USED ON THE SITE
The Site uses various categories of cookies, including:
Technical navigation or session cookies, essential for the proper functioning of the Site and to allow the Data Subject to access the requested content and services. These cookies, for example, allow us to distinguish between authenticated and non-authenticated users, ensuring that features are provided correctly and securely, and preventing potential cyber attacks. Session cookies last only for the duration of a single browsing session and are deleted when the browser is closed. Their use does not require the Data Subject’s consent.
Functional technical cookies, including third-party cookies, are used to activate specific Site features and store preferences expressed by the user (such as the selected language or other settings) in order to offer a more personalized browsing experience and improve the use of services. These cookies also do not require the user’s consent.
Third-party analytics cookies, i.e., cookies from parties other than the Site operator, are used by the Data Controller to collect anonymous and aggregate statistical information on users’ use of the Site (e.g., pages visited, time spent on the Site, and interaction methods). This data, which does not allow the identification of the Data Subject, is processed exclusively for the purposes of analyzing and improving the Site’s performance.
Marketing cookies. Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites. The purpose is to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and therefore more valuable for publishers and third-party advertisers.
Social media platform cookies, including profiling cookies
The Data Controller is required to provide links to the privacy policies and related consent forms (if available) of third parties.
Information regarding the third-party cookies used on the Site can be found at the following links:
Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=it
Youtube: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/10364219?hl=it
Meta: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policies/cookies/?entry_point=cookie_policy_redirect&entry=0
5. ANALYTICS COOKIES
Analytics cookies allow us to understand how users interact with the Site, in order to evaluate and improve its performance and optimize the content offered based on users’ actual information needs. For example, they allow us to detect which pages are most visited and which are least visited, the total number of visitors, the average time spent on the site, and the ways in which users access it. This information is also useful for verifying that pages load correctly and quickly.
All information collected through these cookies is processed in aggregate and anonymous form and cannot be traced back to the identity of the interested party.
To perform these analyses, the Data Controller uses services provided by third parties, who may install cookies through the Site. In particular, the Data Controller uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”).
Google Analytics 4 allows you to collect detailed statistics on user use of the Site, excluding the IP address from processing through immediate anonymization and obtaining only metadata (such as geographic area), which are processed through a proxy located in the European Union.
The interested party can deactivate Google Analytics at any time by following the instructions available at this link: Deactivating Google Analytics
For more information, please see Google’s privacy policy.
The Data Controller cannot exclude the possibility that, as part of its activities, Google Ireland may transfer non-anonymized data outside the European Economic Area, specifically to Google LLC, based in the United States. This transfer, however, occurs to a country that guarantees an adequate level of personal data protection when the data is intended for entities registered in the Data Privacy Framework List, as is the case with Google LLC.
6. USE OF FACEBOOK’S BEHAVIORAL ADVERTISING SERVICE
This Site uses the advertising service offered by interaction with the Facebook platform, managed by Meta Platform Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland (Meta), to collect and analyze information on the use of the site by users.
Facebook collects data such as the URL visited, language, operating system, screen resolution, and other information related to actions performed on the site, such as purchases or searches. This data is sent to Facebook servers in the United States for analysis.
The Site and Facebook use this information to personalize the ads shown to users, to prevent them from seeing the same ad too many times, and to monitor the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. Additionally, Facebook may display personalized ads on other sites (such as your Facebook timeline or other sites in its advertising network) based on this information.
Users can opt out of data transfer to Facebook for advertising purposes at any time by managing their preferences in the banner above. In this case, a cookie will be placed that blocks the transfer of information unless it is deleted.
Specifically, the Facebook Pixel is installed on the Site, a tool provided by the aforementioned company for collecting statistical data. Installed on the Site, it allows the Data Controller to measure the effectiveness of promotional activities, such as advertising campaigns, carried out using Facebook services. The Facebook Pixel allows Meta to verify and communicate to the Data Controller whether, after a particular campaign advertised on Facebook, or after reading a particular post on its Facebook page, Facebook users visit the Site. Through the Facebook Pixel, Meta learns about its users’ visits to the Site. Meta compares visits with the group of Facebook users to whom Facebook showed the advertisement and/or who clicked on a post on EG’s Facebook page, and provides EG with anonymous and aggregate information that helps determine the return on investment for its advertising spending. The Data Controller uses this tool solely for statistical purposes and cannot access any information about individual users. The Facebook Pixel also allows Facebook to target, at EG’s request, its advertising campaigns to users who, after logging in to the Site, have visited the Site or performed specific actions while browsing the Site (e.g., opened a specific page). EG cannot gain access to any information about individual users.
In carrying out this activity, Meta and EG act as joint data controllers, and to this end have entered into a specific joint controllership agreement, the details of which are available at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum .
Joint controllership is, however, limited to data collection and statistics processing, and EG has no knowledge of any further data processing carried out by Meta. For information on the collection and processing of data by Meta, as well as on the data subject’s rights regarding privacy and on how to set options to protect their privacy, please consult Meta’s specific privacy policies ( https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy ) and its use of cookies ( https://www.facebook.com/policies/cookies/ ).
EG cannot exclude that Meta may transfer data of the Data Subjects outside the European Economic Area, in particular to Meta Platforms Inc., based in the United States. This country guarantees an adequate level of protection for personal data when transferred to US organizations registered in the “Data Privacy Framework List,” such as Meta Platforms Inc.
Finally, to the best of EG’s knowledge, if the Data Subject has a Facebook profile and is logged in to Facebook while visiting the Site, their visit to the Site may be transferred to their Facebook profile. If the Data Subject wishes to prevent Facebook from linking data regarding their visit to the Site with their Facebook profile data already held by Facebook, they must log out of Facebook before accessing the Site and then delete all Facebook cookies after visiting pages containing such plug-ins.
7. DATA STORAGE
Event data, i.e., the measurement of user interaction on a website or application (e.g., loading a page, clicking a link, and completing a purchase), and user data (i.e., web user navigation information) will be retained for 2 and 14 months, respectively. Other types of data will be retained for the time specified for each category of detached Cookies, for which please refer to the tables containing the relevant retention terms. Specifically, technical Cookies are always active and cannot be deactivated. Upon their expiration, new Cookies will therefore be automatically detached. Analytical and profiling Cookies will always be inactive and can only be detached if explicitly authorized by you via the “Accept all” button or via the buttons dedicated to each category within the banner. Otherwise, you can reject them via the “Reject” button. The banner will not be displayed again unless substantial changes are made (e.g., to the list of third parties), or unless the Data Controller is unable to determine whether a Cookie is already stored on the device, or unless the User has not yet authorized it. that 6 months have passed. Therefore, when the cookies expire, the banner will be displayed again and you will be asked for new consent, without prejudice to your right to withdraw consent.
8. SCOPE OF PROCESSING, COMMUNICATION, DISSEMINATION
Data processing is carried out by the Data Controller’s internal personnel appointed as data processors for this purpose. The Data collected for the aforementioned purposes will also be processed by third parties appointed as external data processors, or, as applicable, disclosed to them as independent data controllers, specifically:
i) companies within our corporate group for the purposes specified above; individuals, companies, associations, or professional firms that provide assistance and consultancy to the Data Controller, including in accounting, administrative, legal, tax, and financial matters;
ii) companies, entities, and associations that provide services related and instrumental to enabling Data Subjects’ navigation of the Site;
iii) public administrations for the performance of institutional functions within the limits established by law and regulations. Furthermore, the Data may be made accessible, communicated, and transferred to public bodies, judicial authorities, and law enforcement agencies, who will process it as independent data controllers in order to respond to requests for information or where expressly required by law. The complete and updated list of entities processing the Data as data processors and independent data controllers is available upon request from EG SpA, with registered office at Via Pavia no. 6 – 20136, Milan.
9. TRANSFERS OUTSIDE THE EU
The Data Controller may transfer Data outside the European Union. To this end, in accordance with data protection legislation, the Data Controller assesses the impact of data transfers and adopts, where applicable, the most appropriate safeguards (e.g., adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses). For information regarding the transfer of Personal Data collected through third-party cookies, please refer to each third party’s privacy policies, available on their websites and linked in the tables above.
